Surf is a sugar beet from Florimond Desprez. It has a very low soil tare and is only suitable to be mechanically harvested and not grazed in-situ. Surf has an upright leaf habit, with white bulbs of a very high drymatter percentage.

*Variation in DM % can occur under different sowing rate and/or environmental conditions. Northern North Island drymatters have consistently been lower than stated.

Surf is a good option where a high-performance sugar beet is wanted. Surf provides uniform establishment potential and even height out of the ground for optimising lifting. Suitable for a range of stock types when lifted. There can be some benefits to chipping sugar beet in some situations.
