  • Pasture Life Perennial
  • Grazing Seasons Autumn, Spring, Summer, Winter

Emblem is a medium to small-leaved white clover that is a third generation of this style. It has been bred and selected from a programme focused on broadly adaptive genotypes successful in variable environmental conditions and grazing managements.

  • Medium to small–leaved white clover
  • High production under periods of set stocking
  • Selected for performance over time
  • Recommended for sheep and beef pastures both dryland and higher rainfall

Emblem has specifically been successful in low input and set stock conditions predominantly found in sheep and beef farming systems.

Photo right demonstrates variation in stolon style between white clover types. Emblem (bottom) relative to Attribute (middle) & Brace (top). Emblem is exhibiting its small leaves with stolons close to the ground which aids in persistence under set stocking and lower fertility environments.

Performance Data

Emblem has specifically been successful in low input and set stocking conditions predominantly found in sheep and beef farming systems. Consider mixing Emblem with Attribute medium to large-leaved white clover to improve production and versatility while retaining resilience when conditions are challenging.

Emblem has the plasticity to be able to change its leaf size depending on the environment it is in. Graph 3 shows the lower fertility and summer dry conditions of east coast Canterbury. Emblem had a relatively small average leaf size compared to its predecessors. While in the higher fertility higher rainfall conditions of the Waikato and under cattle grazing Emblem’s average leaf size is larger than its predecessors.

FESCUE MIX

Hummer and Haven demonstrate a very high spring and summer growth and with MaxP® are tolerant to many insects. The high water use efficiency makes Hummer or Haven pastures ideal for regions that irrigate. Oakdon meadow fescue with MaxR® endophyte is often mixed 50:50 with Hummer or Haven tall fescue to maintain all the advantages of a tall fescue pasture but to greatly improve grazing management.
